Why

The financial need is a reflection of the needs of children and families in difficult situations. By organizing your own fundraiser, you are helping to raise awareness about the fundamental rights of these children and making a real difference in their lives. By getting involved personally, you are encouraging the community to mobilize and help us build this great protective, caring circle for our children.

How

1. Inspiration

Take inspiration from effective, successful fundraising initiatives that appeal to you; you will learn some best practices from them.

2. Team

Surround yourself with people who you trust and who will take your project to heart in order to spread the workload and optimize your efforts—and your results!

3. Planning

It is important to have a realistic goal, a relatively detailed work plan and a budget. For example, consider that you will get a positive return of one-third out of every three people. Do the math!

4. Relevance

Choose a formula that is relevant and consistent with the values of the cause in order to rally as many people as possible. Then create an engaging and reassuring message for your donors.

5. Discussion

Contact us to signal your interest. We will discuss the various possible formulas with you, then submit your fundraising proposal form; the Foundation team is here to help you.

Some inspiring fundraisers

The Radio-Canada knitting club with a generous touch

A Christmas village that amazes

A yummy family affair

Since 2008, Élizabeth Gagnon and the Radio-Canada knitting club have been knitting passionately year-round. Now there are over 150 knitters who create little pieces of happiness and warmth to raise funds for the Fondation Dr Julien. In 2019, they donated $31,500 to the Foundation through items sold at Montreal markets. And in 2020, despite de pandemic, these fairies managed to raise $ 13,500. And from the very beginning, its more than $ 150 000 that they raised. All this is in addition to the free knitwear they give to the centres’ children!

For 25 years, Madame St-Cyr, a retired school teacher in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, has created a real Christmas village… in her living room. In Some 300 people come to admire her work and participate in her fundraiser for Fondation Dr Julien every year. She may be considered an architect, an engineer and an electrician as the whole village—consisting of 80 porcelain houses—is lit up and even a train can be seen passing through!

Les Petits gourmets dans ma cour it’s 350 volunteers aged 5 to 80 who live an extraordinary experience of sharing, mutual aid and teamwork that mobilizes an entire neighborhood around the well-being of all children, regardless of their living environment. In 2019, thanks to six months of preparation and 300 volunteers, the ninth edition of this fundraiser made it possible to distribute $91,500 to the Fondation Dr Julien and to social pediatrics centres in Laval and Côte-de-Gaspé.
