In June 2008, Me Hélène (Sioui) Trudel, co-founder of the Dr. Julien Foundation, created the Garage à Musique project.

She believed in the power of music to provide children in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood opportunities to develop their creativity and tools to help them follow a better life path. Hélène’s vision turned GAM into a consortium of specialists who join forces and expertise to equip children to reach their full potential while conforming to the 41 rights of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Over the past 10 years, thanks to a dedicated team, Garage à Musique has evolved into a true specialized community social pediatrics center.

For Hélène, there is no greater injustice than a society accepting that thousands of children do not have the same chances of success.
