Center description
Anchored in the community since 2011, the Haute-Gaspésie Social Pediatrics Center (CPSHG) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to children and adolescents in vulnerable situations.
Our center provides free medical and psychosocial services to support children’s development. The interventions are based on the approach developed by Dr. Gilles Julien, who created community social pediatrics in Quebec.
This approach combines the expertise of medicine, law, and social sciences to identify, reduce, or eliminate sources of toxic stress or risk factors that affect the child’s development and well-being.
In addition to personalized follow-ups with a doctor and a clinic assistant, our center also offers sports, artistic, and cultural activities to promote the development of social skills, self-esteem, individual strengths, and to support young people in achieving their dreams.
